SGPA to Percentage Formula
SGPA, or Semester Grade Point Average, measures your performance in a single semester rather than your cumulative academic record. To convert SGPA to a percentage, the same formula used for CGPA applies:
Percentage = SGPA × 9.5
For example, an SGPA of 8.6 converts to 8.6 × 9.5 = 81.7%. This is the standard formula for the 10-point scale and works the same way regardless of whether you're converting a single semester or your full CGPA.
SGPA vs. CGPA: What's the Difference?
SGPA reflects how you performed in one specific semester. CGPA is the cumulative average across every semester you've completed. If you want to combine multiple semester SGPAs into an overall CGPA, use our SGPA to CGPA calculator, which supports both simple and credit-weighted averaging.
